Ships that I Ship: Day 46: Kyouya/Tamaki

Aw yeah, get ready for Ouran High School Host Club week!

Pairing: Ootori Kyouya/Suoh Tamaki
Canon Level: Friends

So there's this moment in episode 24 of the anime, where Kyouya hears Tamaki playing the piano for the first time, and I watched it and my immediate thought upon seeing Kyouya's reaction was, "Ah, so this is the moment Kyouya fell in love with Tamaki." And then the rest of the scene confirmed that they're great for each other because Tamaki absolutely infuriates Kyouya. Which, okay, one person pissing the other off is generally not a good, stable underpinning for a relationship, however Kyouya is normally so buttoned up and controlled about everything that having someone in his life who can consistently get him to have some genuine emotional showings is, I think, good for him. Tamaki shakes up Kyouya's world and keeps him from just sitting back and accepting things, and Kyouya gives Tamaki direction and support for his generally pie-in-the-sky nature.
