Fandom Snowflake Challenge: Day 4

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

1) Recs for reccers! I've subscribed to a bunch of reccers on DW and friended a bunch on LJ, but I'd love to follow more.

2) I've been on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kick recently because there's a new show and I will never not love the ninja turtles, so if anyone knew of good stories, arts, communities, or whatever turtles-related, I would be ecstatic to know about them too. My only caveat is that I'm not really into turtlecest or anything involving turtle penises. (I am totally fine with other people enjoying those things, but they are not my bag.)

3) Video game recs! I am finally getting into playing video games after years of thinking they were just not for me, and I would love some titles that you think I could play. I have access to a lot of systems (Nintendo DS, NES, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Playstation 2, XBox, Game Boy, Game Boy Advanced, probably others too), but I'm really bad at things that require fast reflexes (platformers, most modern RPGs) and have no patience for things that punish death severely (e.g., NetHack). Some games that have worked for me were Katamari Damacy, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and Scribblenauts. The Professor Layton games are on my "to get" list, but I don't know what else I should put on it.

Bonus) Not exactly fannish, but I'd love any delicious dessert or snack recipes that you know of. I like to collect recipes, and when I'm called on to make something (for a party or because I want to) I just browse until I find the perfect thing to make. I'm reasonably competent in the kitchen but lack the patience for anything super involved. And for anyone reading, this peanut butter fudge is both incredibly delicious and incredibly easy to make.

I've been wanting to experiment with whole wheat flour in my shortbread. Sometimes I don't want to eat such a heavy buttery cookie; maybe I'll try it half and half, too.

Rice flour doesn't have gluten in it like wheat flour, so it changes how the cookie rises. I think it gives it more lift? Since the gluten isn't pulling it in with its elastic strands? I read what it does somewhere but I can't find it again. Mostly it changes the texture, makes it more crumbly, which is why fine semolina or corn meal will also do the job.

I'm really glad you enjoyed my game reviews! Ghost Trick is a great game, it doesn't require platformer reflexes, and you can play the same part over and over until you get it, so if you fail (you're already dead), it's not a huge deal. And Chibi Robo for the DS! I didn't know about that. IGN.com says it's okay, which is enough to get me to buy it.
