Oh, Yu Yu Hakusho. I read a lot of Hiei/Kurama back in the day but lost my bookmarks due to a very dead computer at one point. But trust me when I say it was a lot. I really like their dynamic and how they can relate to each other. Kurama, for all that he lives in the human world now, is not a native, and he has a long past in the demon world. He's exceedingly polite as a human, but that's just a veneer over how dangerous he can be. Hiei does not like the human world and wants to deal with it as little as possible. He's got a stubborn, ruthless attitude and the ability to back it up. I think, as the two who have lived in the demon world extensively, they could understand each other in ways that their other teammates would have trouble understanding. Hiei would see Kurama's cunning and power as something good, and Kurama can't act like his normal, polite self around Hiei because Hiei won't accept that from him.

Oh, man, that was one of the very few fandoms where I read *so much* and yet never managed to watch canon. (Gundamn Wing is the other one.) Back when getting your hands on canon could honestly take a lot of time and dollars, but reading fic was wonderfully free.

Yeah, I do not miss the days of VHS collections and bad dubs, although reading fic is still my go-to when I want more. :)

YES! I love Yu Yu Hakusho, and Hiei/Kurama was one of my favorite ships.
