Ships that I Ship: Day 35: Iruka/Kakashi

So I feel like Iruka and Kakashi are one of those juggernaut-type pairings that had a lot of potential background and future canon based on the beginning of the show, which left a lot of room for authors to imagine and play with, but then actual canon didn't quite pan out that way. And by then the fact that there wasn't really a lot of canon support or even interaction between these two didn't really matter because the pairing had its own momentum regardless of canon. But they're still a really fun ship! Iruka, who's got a fairly stable life with a lot of big emotions, and Kakashi, who's a pervy enigma with a lot of angsty emotions, are really enjoyable to read about with their contrasts but who work well together because deep down they both deeply care about the people who are important to them and their village.
