That LJ interests meme

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have fewer than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.

blue seed: This was one of the first animes I ever got interested in on my own. There are evil plants and the heroine may or may not have to sacrifice herself to save humanity. But there's also really huge guns and blowing stuff up! I don't remember that much about it beyond that I loved it and was very upset if I missed an episode. I'd like to buy this one day.

crossovers: Oh good lord, do I love crossovers. Whether they be short and sweet or long and involved, crossovers are one of my favorite things to read. Seriously, in my world, there cannot be too many stories where the characters from X go to Hogwarts. They're self-indulgent, and I love them for it. Also, the more bizzare the better. There's a fantastic Justice League/My Little Pony fic out there that is sadly a WIP.

fanfic recs: Recs are good because I do not want to wade into Harry Potter fandom without someone saying, "I thought this was pretty good." Also, recs are a great way of finding things in fandoms that you didn't even know existed. (By the by, there's nothing I love so much as the other/miscellanious catergory for fic and rec pages.)

get fuzzy: Get Fuzzy's a hilarious comic strip. Bucky Katt is what my family's first cat would have been if he was stupider and not as tough. (Zack was a tough kitty; he killed birds and occasionally got in fights and won.) Also, Satchel's very sweet.

jules verne: Jules Verne is my favorite author ever. I read 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and it was love. Because he had fish! Lots and lots of fish and seaweed and other creatures and the bottom of the sea and all sorts of water landscapes from all over the world! Soooo fantastic. I recently finished The Mighty Orinoco where the two main characters fell in love while the one thought the other was a boy. (The other was actually in drag so as not to be assaulted by unsavory types.) And then there was The Mysterious Island which was an orgy if you read between the lines. ...If you couldn't tell, I wish there was fic based on Verne's works, but I also love the books on their own merits for the story and Verne's nitpicky details that make it all seem possible even a moon orbiting Earth made entirely of gold.

legolas/gimli: Legolas/Gimli is my OTP for Lord of the Rings because they're practically canon. They even sailed off to the Undying Lands (If that's the right name; my LotR knowledge is very lacking.) together. And, okay, I'm also cool with them being just really, really good friends like Sam and Frodo.

nero wolfe: Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe novels are *joy* in book form. Archie's a smartmouth; Wolfe hates nearly everyone and is smart enough to get away with it. Archie is the hard-bitten, American dick (like Dick Tracy or Dixon Hill, if you watch Trek), but instead of being gritty and noir and depressing, he's so much fun. His favorite drink is milk; how could I dislike anyone who's drink of choice is milk? Plus, the mysteries aren't so complicated that I get totally lost (unlike Agatha Christie's stories) even if I never figure them out before the big reveal, which is nice.

rayv/rayk: While I am a total Fraser/RayK girl, I have a soft spot for RayV/RayK. They'd totally have hot, argumentative sex. And would snark at each other to show they care. It'd be great fun.

slash: Slash was what I first read when I started reading fanfic. My tastes have expanded to enjoy gen and het as well, but I still read mostly slash. When I first started, it wasn't that I disliked gen and het; rather, it was that if I wanted het, I'd read romance novels and if I wanted gen, I'd watch/read the canon. Slash, however, was the only place I could get m/m. (When I started, I didn't have much interest in f/f. Again, my tastes have expanded, and there's some f/f I really adore.) Also, it's a lot of fun to try and slash characters. I'm all about stuff that's fun, as I said when I babbled about crossovers.

tv: Without tv, there would not be a lot of my favorite shows and fics. Some of my all-time favorite shows are the following: due South, Invisible Man, Two Guys and a Girl, Seaquest, Star Trek, etc. I watch a *lot* of tv, and very little of it is stuff I actively dislike. Oh, and I loved Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman too.

yu yu hakusho: I was really into this show for a while and especially into Hiei/Kurama fics. I'm less so now, but I still love crossovers for this show, since it's one of the ones that involves a fair bit of work to make it mesh with whatever you're crossing it with. But if you can make it work, it's so much fun. Yu Yu Hakusho is perfect for long, involved crossovers.

Sadly, the interests I really, really wanted to ramble about did not come up. When I get the relevant books, I'm so going to quote bits to prove Keller/Shucorion and Poe/Bruno the Armless Wonder.
