Dear Yuletide Author Letter

Hi, Yuletide Author!

I'm [archiveofourown.org profile] coprime over on AO3. (I'm also happy to receive treats and have my settings on AO3 set so I can receive them, if that's a question anyone had.)

Thank you so much for writing for me! I'm so excited to see your story and I'm already sure I'll love it because it'll be a story in one of my beloved, tiny fandoms. I say every year that the best story is a story the writer is excited to write, so if you already have an idea you want to write, go for it! This letter is just for if you'd like a but more information.

Ships that I Ship: Day 28: Razor/Blade

Canon: Hackers
Pairing: Razor/Blade
Canon Level: Friends(?)

So. Way back in the day, I went looking for Hacker fic. There's not a lot out there now, and over a decade ago there was even less. I found one thing that qualified as readable for me, and it was actually pretty good! It was also Razor/Blade slash, and them as a couple just sort of clicked for me. Like, "Ahh, that makes sense and is clearly the most reasonable explanation for their relationship." I basically read them as should-be-canon, but I really don't know if that's accurate. The movie doesn't say anything one way or the other, so maybe they're supposed to be read as a couple. Or maybe they're supposed to be read as only friends since this was a mainstream movie from 1995 and that was probably a lot of people's default assumption. Either way, I definitely ship them. They live together, they work together, they're in sync with each other, they should be together too.

Ships that I Ship: Day 27: Dade/Kate

Canon: Hackers
Pairing: Kate Libby/Dade Murphy
Canon Level: Dating

This is another one of those movies where I have zero ability to be objective about it. Like, I can kind of mentally accept that it probably isn't that great of a movie, and yet. I think everything about it fantastic, which obviously includes Dade and Kate. They're sarcastic and competitive and push each other to do better, and it is great. I enjoy them trying to one up each other as well working together on something bigger than just themselves.
