There's just something really appealing to me about the idea of these two (re)connecting in the near or far future, of Bender maturing into a steady sort of guy who can build a lie together with someone else. Brian and Bender in particular, I think, would be able to push each other out of their comfort zones. Brian would refuse to let Bender live down to everyone else's expectations of him, and Bender wouldn't let Brian hide away from life experiences.
