Canon: The Lord of the Rings
Pairing: Éomer/Lothíriel
Canon Level: Married

One day while looking for long fic, I came across one centered on Éomer and Lothíriel and while I didn't remember who Lothíriel was, it looked readable and Éomer was played by Karl Urban in the Peter Jackson movies. (My interest is easily piqued.) But then I looked up Lothíriel, and the reason I don't remember her is because she's barely in the books. Which, it turns out, leaves a lot of room for writers to invent a woman able to potentially hold Éomer's interest and earn his love. And that, in turn, can create some really great romance novel-style fic. So now I occasionally enjoy figuratively rolling around in the Éomer/Lothíriel longfic, despite how each Lothíriel is different.

I-- Argh! Gimli was not beaten with an ugly stick, people. He may not compare to elves in your minds, but then elves might not compare to him in his. Plus, I'd think he would have too much pride to sit about constantly thinking about how Legolas is so much prettier than he and how he is undeserving of Legolas and on and on and on. So would you please stop making him do so?

This was brought on by reading one too many Legolas/Gimli stories in one sitting. Thank you, and goodnight.

So. The movie kicked serious ass. I loved it and want to go back. Since I can't think coherently, I'll put my thoughts in bullet points.

Beware: Spoilers )

I think that's everything. Oh, one other thing. Word of advice: don't drink anything during the movie. I did, and I spent the last half hour wishing it would hurry up and end so I could go to the bathroom.

It's Spock as you've never seen him before!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, dear Lord. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it.
